Sometimes it’s an abandoned greenhouse tucked on the backside of a forgotten property. Sometimes it’s a dusty old ghost town boardwalk, overgrown and weathered with time. Sometimes it’s a jetty of small boulders leading out toward the ocean, worn smooth by the waves. They’re all places that have stirred something deeper within me.
My mind flows with wonder, fascination & contemplation. I want to know its stories. Who laughed here? Whose footsteps disappeared with the breeze? Who built this? Who waited here? What stories settled into the earth after everyone was gone?
I spend time there. I photograph it. My intuition listens. I want to remember what it felt like to stand there. I return to these places within my mind until they begin to speak in their own quiet ways. Then, I begin to ask the herbs.
